Coach Marceaux Back in the MLB
Former McNeese Cowboy and first round pick, Jacob Marceaux, is headed back to the Minor Leagues. This will be his second stint as he was released from the Marlins organization in March. Jacob will be joining the White Sox organization and is assigned to the AA Birmingham Barons. He will remain with the Baron through the playoffs and then spend the fall in their instructional league.
Since his release in March, Jacob has been rehabbing his injured elbow. He also has made an impact on a lot of young players in the area working primarily with the Bullet program.
“Jacob’s vast knowledge of pitching mechanics and mental approach was a great asset to our program and may prove to be impossible to replace.” Says Coach James Landreneau, “But we are proud of him and wish him the best. He is a great mentor and role model for our kids. Nobody works as hard as he does. He is an excellent example of what we preach at Bullet.”
His hard work and dedication has successfully rehabbed his arm and is back to his previous above average velocity. The White Sox wasted no time making him an offer only hours after his bull pen.
During the summer of 2008 while with his previous team, Jacob treated a visiting Bullet team to a day at the ballpark. The game just so happened to be against his new team, Birmingham Barons.
Jacob, the Bullet family would like to wish you the best of luck as you continue to chase your dream. You will forever be an inspiration to all of us.
